Joining the Rogue's Gallery of Pizza & Pop Culture

On January 26, 2020 Keith Larsen joined as a co-host of his 5th podcast, Pizza & Pop Culture. Keith founded his first podcast in 2006, entitled "The Connecticut Production Scene". Co-hosted by Alan Spaulding, the hour long bi-weekly show featured production professionals from around the state talking tech, tips & tricks and stories from the front lines. To "legitimize" or gain national exposure, Keith recruited the talents of Intelligent Assistance's Philip Hodgetts out of Los Angeles to provide industry news. It worked. 15 episodes into the run, Creative COW came calling, acquired the show and re-branded it "The Red Hot Roundup".

Keith & Alan felt that the show wasn't quite the same under the COW brand, and resigned. Shortly thereafter, they approached Michelle Yamazaki at Toolfarm and pitched a new version of the show to her. Now, an inverse of "CT Production Scene", but still featuring Philip, and a new segment with Michelle, "Plugged In: The Digital Landscape" became a huge hit and continued into 2008. The grind of producing the show and meeting the sponsor obligations eventually had the hosts fatigued and they decided to shutter the show in late 2008. In 2012, after running the ProductionCONN trade show in late 2011, Keith decided to spin off ProductionCONN Radio continuing the tradition of industry podcasts with new host, Rit Campbell. The show didn't last long as podcasting had taken it's toll.

Now, nearly a decade later, Keith, Alan and an assorted supporting cast have launched a new show entitled, "Pizza & Pop Culture". The show is a bi-weekly serving of geek pizza with a rogue's gallery of hosts talking about movies, tv, music, comics, sports, and any other topical pop culture topic they find relevant. Each show will be broken into 3 segments of various topics so each episode will have something for everyone! The show is recorded on location at East Side Pizza in Wallingford, CT. It is often referred to as the "Cheers of Pizza" and the show aims to capture the energy of the place wherein employees and customers all join in the fun!
